Slate Hearths

We source all our slate hearths from a local family run company which has established itself as one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of products made from high quality slate. They use cutting-edge technology and experienced craftsmen in producing all of their slate products.

We can offer standard sized hearths or hearths that are made to measure to suit each specific installation. Different finishing touches such as thickness, how the edges are finished and different shaped hearths can also be catered for providing a truly bespoke product.

We can offer premium quality Welsh slate which has a fine rubbed surface dark blue-grey in colour with a natural vein flowing through the surface.

An alternative to Welsh Slate is the Mont black slate also a premium product which has a smooth fine rubbed surface with a dark grey to black colour.

If the smooth fine rubbed slate isn’t to your taste the Cleft natural riven slate is perhaps a more practical choice with a consistent natural surface that’s hard wearing and is very forgiving which is ideal for use as a hearth.

Granite Hearths

Granite is a great alternative to the traditional slate hearth. The granite hearths we supply are constructed from 20mm natural black granite and are available honed or polished. For use with multi fuel the hearths are slabbed so as to prevent cracking from the heat. The granite hearths are available in standard sizes or can also be made to measure.
